Summer 2020

Notice of change in match policy

In effort to mitigate further negative impact on the invested funds used to sustain the incentive of matching account fees, starting October 1, 2020, the DDETF program will suspend the discretionary private contribution match policy for eligible accounts that have not reached their maximum lifetime contribution match amount of $7,750. The contribution match, offered when the DDETF was originally established, stopped in 2008 for new enrollees. This change impacts about 630 active accounts in the program. This suspension only impacts future contributions after the cessation date from those 630 accounts. All matches previously assigned to individual accounts will remain in those accounts. If the program should receive another appropriation from the state legislature, the governing board may reinstate the contribution match policy.

The annual matches of $75 on the management fee and $75 on the tax preparation fee will continue as a beneficial feature of the program for all eligible trust accounts. As will the $600 enrollment match for vested accounts for new enrollees.

Online viewing of quarterly statements available

Washington State Department of Commerce is pleased to offer online access to the Endowment Trust Fund System (ETFS) service. This system allows primary representatives to 1) view a trust account’s quarterly statements for the past three years, 2) view current account balance and 3) view recent transactions. View or download the Endowment-Trust-Fund-System-User-Manual.

To setup your ETFS Account:

  1. Register for a Secure Access Washington (SAW) account.
  2. Submit an ETFS Access Request Form.
  3. Add the Endowment Trust Fund System Service (ETFS) under the Department of Commerce services.

You will receive an auto-generated email from SAW. You are not fully approved until you receive a welcome email from ETFS.
